Knowing how to code could be one of the best skills to learn in the XXI century. Knowing how to code opens up a huge world of possibilities. In this article I will share reasons and insights about why learn to code.

  • Teaches you a new way of thinking. Coding has more to do with thinking than typing. You think in ways of implementing an idea or solving an error. Coding teaches you to solve problems.
  • Coding could be as fundamental as maths. Coding is a tool that can help you to solve problems in your job or in your life (as same as maths).
  • Learning to code is useful no matter what your career ambitions are.

Learning to code is learning to innovate and create.

  • Coding doesn’t make you a programmer, as well as doing maths doesn’t make you a mathematician.
  • Nowadays, most people just consume technology. Coding will teach you to create technology or at least knowing how software works.
  • You don’t need to be a genius to learn to code. You need a bit of logic and creativity. Coding is a task that wrap these two.
  • If you think that you aren’t a logical or creative person, learning to code will boost your logical thinking and your creativity.

Whether you are trying to make a lot of money or whether you are trying to change the world, computer programming is an incredible powerful skill to learn.

  • If you are looking for a career, careers related to coding can be very good options. Only a third of one percent of the world’s population knows how to code. The demand for talent with knowledge of software development and computer science is very high.
  • Computers and software are everywhere, and yet very few people know how to program computers or how to create software.
  • Coding/Programming is like have a superpower, the superpower of tell computers what to do.

“Whether you want to uncover the secrets of the universe, or you just want to pursue a career in the 21st century, basic computer programming is an essential skill to learn.” — Stephen Hawking, Theoretical Physicist
